Getting sleepy?

Are you sleepy? If not, you should be. Apparently I got that effect on people…Are you sleepy? If not, you should be. Apparently I got that effect on people…

Ok, perhaps a little over the top, but I possess the power to make people fall asleep. Forget Superman, dismiss the Silver Surfer, ditch Team America: Dennis is here!

So, the full story. Simply put, I recently noticed that people around me tend to fall asleep. A few weeks ago, I went to an amusement park with my brother, his girlfriend and her sister. All was nice, until we got back in the car on our way back: the sister fell asleep. Could happen, one might say.
One week later, the same group of people decided to watch Shrek 1, 2 and 3 in a row. Parts 1 and 2 on DVD and, you guessed it, during part 2 the sister once again transformed into sleeping beauty. Started to wonder whether it was me…

The answer to that last question came just a few hours before writing this piece. I just returned from a ‘dinner-date’ with a girl I recently met (combined with watching a movie, which turned out to be She’s All That) and guess what? I didn’t even arrive and she already almost fell asleep. The result: shortest date EVER!
Well, maybe a little bit exagurated but a date lasting a mere 2 hours (including getting a pizza and watching a movie) may just be a new record on ’shortest-non-embarrassing-date’. I have to admit that her being tired was pretty normal, as she has been working almost whole day for the past few weeks to finish a congres-paper, an activity I’m pretty ‘proud’ of. Still, I’m happy with the time we did spend together, as it did ask for more :-)
