Rumor rampage
There are two rumors recently floating around teh internets. One of them is about Official Nintendo Magazine’s(or ONM) exclusive story next month. Everyone Thinks it’s Nights because well…. this scan from the magazine cover.
Personally, I’m very skeptical. In fact, just today, scans of Ngamer’s magazine turned up with pretty much the same thing. Lots of stars, space, and claims of something exclusive. Do both magazines have the same “exclusive” story? I think so, but I don’t think it’s Nights. If you think about it, it could very well be something more obvious like Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo was even willing to show some new footage at GDC, so maybe there’s more info on the way? Though Nights on Wii would be pretty awesome…
The other rumor is the question of weather Saturn games are planned for the Wii VC or not. It’s an on-going rumor with no evidence or anything, just pure skepticism and people arguing weather it could even be done or not. Some say despite the huge ISO rip sizes of 200-600mb modern compression could pull through and we would be able to store a few games on the Wii’s 512mb internal mask rom. I say sure, maybe. Because even if Sega were able to pull that off, emulation would be an utter nightmare - Not to mention an emulator that would be able to uncompress data as it emulates. Since most Saturn games are arcade ports -that use much less memory and are easier to emulate- it’s a much better idea if Sega would just start throwing arcade games up for download. Heck, SNK’s doing it! Well… that’s because Neo Geo systems are basically arcade machines.
