Why So Long To Respond…
I am truely sorry to those who have written as a reposne or just written, that I have taken sooo long to reply. I am so busy on the net writing, that it’s tough to find time to dedicate to those who are most requesting… ANYWAY, if you’d like to contact me via Xbox Live you can by sending a friend request to ‘PsiPhiTy’.
Since I made the predictino about Fire Emblem it has since been posted on several sites that it is in fact already released (i think) in Japan. The comment predicting it sat so long waiting for my approval that it’s no longer a PREdiction but more a POST diction. I have been busy playing Civilization Revolution for BOTH the DS version AND the Xbox 360 version, they are identical. I play one while away on the road, andthe other while at home of course. It is a fun game for those who like management style games. I became addicted to it when it was just a pc game Civilization’ by Sid Meier, which for those of you who don’t know Sid is listed in the Gaming Edition of the Guniess (SP) World Record Book (20 
edition as being the Game designer with the most accolades of ANY KIND, on ANY PLATFORM IN HISTORY. I had put deposits on BOTH the DS and the 360 versions benig sertain that he could do no wrong in the translation to a console, and I was right. X Box Live listed him as the Game Of The Month for July I believe.For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, check it out, you may just have found your addiction too. Lately you hear gaming web sites bantering around the expresssion …” it’s one of those games that just begs you for ONE MORE TURN..” well that definition’/sentiment was coined for Civiliaztion [ by its dedicated fans] and since then, so many other games have tried to use it in their ads or interveiws, but you can be certain, that Sid himself said it but only after hundreds of his loyal fans experienced it.
I will be buying all of Sids games for a s long as he cares to continue to produce them… keep ‘em commin’ Sid, I’ve got more cash here for ya’. He is also the designer for Sid Meiers Pirates on so many platforms. He practically single handedly invented the ‘God Game’ genre’ of games that exit today.
Now it is a turn-based game, so some will not want it, because it doesn’t go BANG and have loud noises or have flashy graphics, but I for one feel that those are not needed if a game is truely entertaining.
His dedicated fans are devided as he paired down and combined a number of the previous choices the game had on teh PC, but it was needed for the translation AND he was aiming at a new demographics-crowd with this different style.
Space INvaders Extreme for the DS is a great example. When that game originally was relased, so many many years ago, the first time, my feelings were… Meh… but this new rendition for the DS is a great game in it’s own right and well worthy of the $20. US price tag it’s been given.
Also I just picked up a copy of Race Driver Create & Race, even though it’s been out a while. If you enjoy racers then this game, at it’s $12.00 us price tag is money well spent and I don’t say that about many racers. If you happen to be racing… ‘Mr. E. Racer’ on the net, then you’re playing me. The physics are all well done and although the package would have you believe it’s a second rate game, I can assure you it isn’t.
IN fact, GRID for the DS is the EXACT same game, made by the same people, using the SAME GAME ENGINE just released with different cars and the ability to edit your billboards. For those who don’t know, not only can you race people online [wifi] with this little DS gem, you can create your own race tracks and race them there too!
Now I’m looking forward to Gauntlet DS, Viva Pinata DS TECMO Bowl DS and let’s not forget the real far off gem that has my mouth watering… Age of Empires Mythologies. Age of Empires was one of the first three game I bought and the real reason I got hooked on a DS in the first place.. [because it was the closest thing to Civilization, before Civ Revolution was even announced.]
I am a disabled veteran and have far too much time on my hands, some of which is spent waiting at VA hospitals for treatment and whatnot. This gives me plenty of time to Conquer the World. If you are playing CIV REV online and you are playing SCIFITY of course you are playing me also.
